The Single-Footing Horse Owners and Breeders Association is the only registry for the true Single-Footing horse. We offer pedigree and performance registration, with a certification program insuring that the true Single-Footing gait will be consistent in our horses from generation to generation.
SHOBA currenty has members and registered horses in at least ten countries worldwide with numbers increasing quarterly. These uniquely moving animals are for those who want a smooth ride, speed, and versitility from the trail, to the straight away, to the show ring.

How can I get my horse registered?
There are two types of registration: Pedigree and Performance.
For pedigree registration, both the sire and the dam must be reistered and certified to breed with SHOBA prior to the foal's birth. Their foal would then be eligible for for pedigree registration at birth.
Performance registration is for horses that preform the SIngle-Footing gait, but have only one or neither parent registered with SHOBA. Once that horse is going well under-saddle, it's time to do a registration video to showcase your horse's ability. There is a definate form the video must take in order for the Registration Committee to evaluate whether or not he/she is of SHOBA quality. You can locate that information on the Registrations page of this website. Once that process is successfully completed, registration can begin.
Where Can I find my very own Single-Footer?
There are many breeders of SHOBA horses around the world, though the vast majority of them are in the southeastern United States. We offer a small selection of breeders on the Breeders DIrectory page on this website. They are organized by state or country and contact information is including with each listing. Breeders also showcase their horses on YouTube and several Facebook pages that are dedicated to speed racking horses.
We also maintain a Bulletin Board on this website where members can list horses for sale and for those looking to buy, anyone can post an ad describing exactly what they are looking for.
Attending any of the Single-Footing events, be it Big Guns, Fall Brawl, or others, is also a venue where you can find many owners with horses to sell.

SHOBA does not exclude any color or height, as long as the horse demonstrates a true Single-Footing gait.
